Maryam Hill, EdD
Dr. Maryam Hill is Copy Editor for the Journal of African American Males in Education (JAAME). Dr. Hill currently works as an Adult Education Specialist for Rutherford County Schools. She is an adjunct professor for the University of Phoenix where she teaches Composition and Communication 1 & 2 and Essentials to College Writing. Dr. Hill is also an adjunct professor for Middle Tennessee State University, teaching University Seminar and Successful Transitions to College. Dr. Hill has a Doctorate of Education degree from Lincoln Memorial University. She also holds an Ed.S. in Curriculum and Instruction, M.Ed. in Administration and Supervision, and a B.A. in English, all from Middle Tennessee State University. Dr. Hill’s research interests focus on school leadership, effective teacher preparation, and adult learning. In addition, she has a special interest in school improvement, examining teaching methodologies, with an interest in pedagogy, andragogy and the content of school curriculum. Theoretically, she draws on social constructivist principles, in particular situated learning with a preferred research method of action research.
